Exoft Company, Alumni and Social Responsibity | ||

When Igor Seredkin, President and CEO of Exoft Inc, a Russian-American joint venture, and Yeees Program Alumni decided with his US partner that social responsibility should be part of a modern 21st century companys activities, he contacted TAAAP for suggestions. Having members from and being co-housed with the Tomsk Oblast Department of Social Development and Project Aid Siberia ( a US funded Food for Progress project), TAAAP staff consulted with them and was able to recommend 3 orphanages in need of assistance and able to make exemplary use of private support. The three were: Detski Dom # 4 (Childrens House # 4) located in the City of Tomsk and serving 140 children ages 5-16 years of age. This orphanage has very progressive management and works hard to provide a homelike setting. Children live in families of approximately 12 each in individual apartments, siblings are not separated, and the housemothers remain with the families on a long-term basis (years/decades).
Seemilushki Orphanage (Seven Meadows) is located in the village of Seemiluski 75 kilometers northeast of Tomsk. The village was formerly a chicken and egg collective farm now defunct, so the orphanage is unable to reply on local assistance. 78 children ( 5-16 years old)live there in 4 cottages.
Krasnoarmenskaya Baby House is located in the City of Tomsk and serves children ages 0-4 years old. If the babies are not adopted or reunited with their families at age 5 they are transferred to Detski Dom #4.
TAAAP congratulates Exoft as a wonderful example of how the exchange experience, Russian- American cooperation, alumni information sharing through TAAAP can and has produced a model program in social responsibility by a private for profit Russian company and provided ongoing support for over 230 orphans. |
