Toy drive 2002

Dear friends!
The holiday season is approaching! Many of us have already thought about presents for our friends and families. But what about those who have no family?
"Project Aid, Siberia" (PAS) humanitarian aid foundation together with Tomsk Alumni Association of American Programs announces a toy drive for orphans and disabled children of Siberia.

THE THIRD ANNUAL TOY DRIVE!!!

This PAS Christmas tradition was born in November 1999. Mr. Michael Fay was agriculture attache in the United States Embassy in Moscow when he came with his family to Novosibirsk, bringing along two big trunks of toys with him. These toys have been collected by his daughters with the help of the Girls Scouts especially for orphans in Siberia. Some of the toys had been made by his daughters themselves and presented to the children from Novosibirsk orphanage #10. The girls were just as happy as those children receiving the gifts.

PAS has decided it would be so fabulous to develop Fay's idea and organize a collection. The Fay family continued it's initiative responding to PAS interest and organized a toy drive within the American Embassy.

During the first toy drive everybody teamed up to collect more than 2 000 toys. The PAS employees dressed in the costumes of Father Frost have presented these toys to orphans at the different regions in Siberia.

The following year, 2001 was been even more productive. Pupils and teachers of a Saint Paul, Minnesota high school, members of Wayzata Community Church in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and the other people took an active part in this mission, collecting and sent the toys to Russia. Nobody could have expected such a startling success. With the help of the institutions in Moscow and with the support of the regions, PAS collected about 12 000 of toys. At the New Year and Christmas, 107 orphan homes in the nine regions of Siberia met Santa Claus and his Russian compadre Father Frost.

More detailed information about the toy drive and the company itself can be found at: www.projectaid.org

Attention!!! PAS regional field office in Tomsk and Tomsk Alumni Association of American Programs announce TOY DRIVE 2002!

On the 26th of November at the meeting of Tomsk Alumni Association of American Programs Angelika Bondarenko invoked the participants to support.

It will be greatly appreciative if you acquaint your friends and colleagues with this information!

This year we intend not only to collect as many toys as we can, but to consider the children's individualities if possible. Although most of the toys would be allocated to orphanages we also like to consider the children from low-income and large families.

We would be grateful for any assistance from people or organizations eager to help make a difference. Soft toys, different games, books etc. - everything that can make the New Year holiday a really happy!

If you have any questions, please feel free to call :
