"Project Aid, Siberia" (PAS) humanitarian aid foundation together with Tomsk Alumni Association of American Programs announces a toy drive for orphans and disabled children of Siberia.

November Alumni Association meeting |
On November 26,2001 the Tomsk Alumni Association of American Programs (TAAAP) organized a meeting of their members at the conference-hall
of the Tomsk Regional Information Center, where about 30 people from different spheres gathered together. The meeting included speakers and
a cold buffet, which provided participants with the opportunity to interact.
The US State Department supported Tomsk Regional Initiative Program was explained and the coordinator of the RI, Jess Bratton told about
the many American programs available in Tomsk.

The Oracle Corporation has announced the creation of the Oracle "Help Us Help" Foundation (
http://www.helpushelp.org).
The foundation will provide $6 million for grants in its first year of operation to increase access to the Internet for disadvantage
youth in the U.S. and abroad.
Deadline: November 30, 2001; February 28 and May 21, 2002.

Exoft Company, Alumni and Social Responsibity |

When Igor Seredkin, President and CEO of Exoft Inc, a Russian-American joint venture, and Yeees Program Alumni
decided with his US partner that social responsibility should be part of a modern 21st century companys activities,
he contacted TAAAP for suggestions. Having members from and being co-housed with the Tomsk Oblast Department
of Social Development and Project Aid Siberia ( a US funded Food for Progress project), TAAAP staff consulted with
them and was able to recommend 3 orphanages in need of assistance and able to make exemplary use of private support.

The Program "Starfish" has begun Work in Tomsk |
|
On the 12th of September the Tomsk Alumni Association of American Programs hosted Rebecca Swanson - the chief
of an American computer firm. Becky flew to Tomsk together with her husband and small son.
The aim of trip of this American business-woman is to help orphans in the Tomsk Region. During her 10-day visit
Ms. Swanson visited a number of nursing homes for children and orphanages.

Meeting with Ms. Rebecca Susan Isenhower |

According to the invitation of the Association, Ms. Rebecca Susan Isenhower visited Tomsk from 7th to 29th of July.
She made a speech before some members of the Association about social security in the United States of America and
took a part in the seminar, called "Organization of Social Care for Elderly and Disabled Persons in Nursing Homes".

The Project "Open a New World" |
|
On June the 13th the opening of the project "Open a New World" took a place in Tomsk. The American Alumni Association organized the project. This project was supported by the "Internet Access and Training Program", which is implemented by the American non-profit organization "Project Harmony" and supported by the Department of Social Security of Tomsk Region.
